Hybrid Signal Detection Method Using MMSE and RC-QRM-MLD for Spatially Multiplexed MIMO Systems
Abstract—A signal detection method that has high performance with low computational complexity is required for spatially multiplexed multiple antenna systems. Among conventional signal detection methods, QR decomposition M algorithm maximum likelihood (QRM-MLD) is known as the optimal method, but a lot of computational complexity is needed. Here, hybrid signal detection method is proposed, which can reduce computational complexity using minimum mean square error (MMSE) and reduced complexity (RC)-QRM-MLD adaptively. The proposed method is adopted in 3GPP LTE downlink environment, the results can show almost identical performance to that of QRM-MLD with less computational complexity.
