Multi Hop Acknowledgement Scheme based Selfish Node Detection in Mobile Ad hoc Networks
Abstract—In the MANET environment nodes tend to be a little less enthusiastic over forwarding packets of neighboring nodes to their destination. On doing so they tamper with their back off values generating values that are more non random in nature. A back off interval being a pre specified time interval for which a node is expected to wait. This paper proposes an algorithm that detects such selfishness by proposing a procedure with which neighboring nodes monitor the node that is expected to misbehave.
Index Terms—MANETs, back off value, misbehavior, Throughput, Packet delivery ratio.
