Study of Major Issues and Their Impact on DVR System Performance
Abstract—This paper explains the issues and the impact of various factors on performance of Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) system. A DVR is connected in power system for series voltage compensation. Voltage sags have significant affect on the performance of sensitive loads present in the distribution system. The impact of voltage, energy, power, DVR rating, maximum load, power factor, maximum depth and duration of voltage sag, efficiency & losses, harmonics, frequency and transformer on proper functioning of DVR system is studied.
Index Terms—Compensation, Dynamic Voltage Restorer, Voltage Sag, Power Quality
